Krakow and Elblag suspend streets for major triathlon events

Krakow will host the Ironman 70.3 triathlon on the first weekend of August. Road closures affect streets such as Wyłom, Norymberska and a section of Trasa Łagiewnicka on Sunday, 2 August, between 07:00‑15:00, with additional temporary closures for running routes until 17:45. Public‑transport routes and stops in the city centre, especially near the Vistula boulevards, Plac na Groblach and the Main Square, will be re‑routed. An information line (500 261 000) will operate on the days surrounding the event.

In Elbląg, the European Triathlon Championships and Garmin Triathlon Tour are scheduled for 31 July–2 August 2026. The city will introduce temporary changes to several municipal bus lines (including lines 1, 3, 10, 12, 14, 15 and 21), with altered routes, detours via streets such as Hetmańska, Tysiąclecia and Grunwaldzka, and adjusted operating hours on 31 July, 1 August and 2 August. Passengers are warned that actual timetables may vary.
