Krakow audits MAIS GROUP contracts as councillors file criminal complaint over city plan
The Krakow City Hall conducted three separate audits of contracts with the construction firm MAIS GROUP carried out by the Sports Infrastructure Directorate, Krakow Municipal Holding and the Krakow New Huta Future company. The reviews examined the purpose of the agreements, procurement procedures, execution and settlement, and noted differences in the depth and tone of the final assessments, with the Sports Infrastructure Directorate providing a more detailed evaluation and recommendations.
At the same time, three opposition councilors from the group "Krakow for Residents" – Michał Starobrat, Łukasz Maślona and Rafał Zawiślak – lodged a criminal complaint against the municipal authorities over the preparation of the city's General Plan and Development Strategy. They allege procedural irregularities, hidden meetings with investors, and changes that favor developers. Councilor Łukasz Maślona said, "We have never seen a final or even a working version of the general plan," and added that the document's current version diverges from the authors' original proposals, prompting the authors to request removal of their names.
