Krakow City Council Oversees MAI GROUP Contract Audit and ZPI Planning Controversies
The Krakow City Hall continues an audit of contracts signed by municipal entities with MAI GROUP. The review covers Krakowski Holding Komunalny S.A., Kraków Nowa Huta Przyszłości S.A., and the City Sports Infrastructure Board. Reports are in the final stage and are expected to be published next week, with the possibility for the entities to comment before the findings become public.
During a recent council session, over ten resolutions on Integrated Investment Plans (ZPI) were adopted. While the council approved ZPI work for eight districts, it rejected proposals for three areas, citing concerns over green‑space development and resident opposition. One proposal for the Półłanki western side was not even considered because councilors feared signing a request under investigation by the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA). The CBA has been monitoring the general city plan after a resident’s complaint and a request from the mayor, highlighting alleged non‑transparent changes to the plan.
