Krakow mayoral elections scheduled for September 27, 2026
Early elections for the mayor of Krakow have been scheduled for September 27, 2026. This follows a May 24 referendum in which 171,581 residents voted to remove Aleksander Miszalski from office. The referendum saw a turnout of 29.99 percent. Currently, Stanisław Kracik is performing the duties of the mayor following a decision by the Prime Minister.
In preparation for the vote, the Municipal Electoral Commission has been established, consisting of 16 members nominated by various electoral committees. The commission is scheduled to hold its first meeting on August 25, 2026. Additionally, the city will undergo the installation of 36 information boards across various districts to display official election notices and committee materials, a process expected to continue until August 28.
