In response, Konfederacja co-leader Sławomir Mentzen dismissed Bocheńczak from his role as Krakow district president and suspended local party officials, pending a party court review. Reports suggest internal conflicts between the Nowa Nadzieja and Ruch Narodowy factions may have contributed to the failure.

Monika Piątkowska, whose candidacy is supported by MEP Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz and Secretary of State Katarzyna Lubnauer, has continued to outline her platform. Speaking at the Women’s Congress, she emphasized that leadership effectiveness is not gender-dependent and advocated for equal participation in decision-making. Her campaign remains focused on Kraków’s municipal debt, the need for long-term strategic planning, and economic uncertainty for young workers.

Political dynamics remain complex as the Rozwój Plus association has declined to field its own candidate, instead conditioning support for Michał Drewnicki on specific local policy demands. Marianna Schreiber has also withdrawn from the race. The election is scheduled for September 27, 2026, with Stanisław Kracik performing mayoral duties in the interim.
