Kraków launches voting for 54 million PLN participatory budget
Voting has commenced for the 13th edition of Kraków’s participatory budget, with 54 million PLN available for distribution. The voting period runs from Friday until September 28.
A total of 440 projects are up for consideration, consisting of 73 city-wide projects and 367 district-level projects. Acting Mayor Stanisław Kracik noted that the budget serves as a direct tool for residents to influence their local environment and meet community needs.
The voting process follows new rules designed to increase transparency. Residents living in Kraków with a PESEL number can vote for up to six projects: three district projects and three city-wide projects. To cast a valid vote, a participant must select at least one from each category. Voters can assign between one and three points to each chosen project to indicate the strength of their support. Voting can be completed online via the official budget website or through the mKraków mobile application.
