Kraków mayoral election: Candidates submit signatures for registration

Candidates for the mayoral election in Kraków are advancing their registration processes. Michał Drewnicki, representing PiS, has submitted his documents to the municipal election commission after collecting over 6,000 signatures, more than double the required minimum.

Other notable candidates also moving forward include Łukasz Gibała of the ‘Kraków dla Mieszkańców’ committee and Senator Monika Piątkowska, who is supported by KO and PSL, both of whom have gathered over 5,000 signatures.

Meanwhile, Michał Klimek, the Konfederacja Korony Polskiej candidate, has held a campaign event where he criticized the city's financial management. Klimek claimed Kraków is in a “tragic” situation due to a debt of 8 billion PLN, which he predicts will rise to 9 billion PLN by the end of the year. He also expressed opposition to the construction of a metro system and called for an audit of the city administration.

Committees have until September 3 to deliver the required signatures, with the official list of registered candidates expected to be published by the municipal election commission by September 14.
