Kraków police investigate tram assault involving group of six

On the evening of August 5-6, 2026, a violent confrontation occurred on tram line 50 in Kraków, near the Bieżanowska stop. A group of six foreign nationals reportedly began harassing a female passenger. When two male passengers intervened to defend her, the group responded with physical violence, causing panic among other commuters. One of the men who intervened sustained injuries, though they did not require immediate medical attention.

Kraków police have identified four individuals involved in the incident. Two suspected aggressors were detained after attempting to flee the scene. The two men who acted in defense of the woman were called to the station for questioning but have since been released.
