Kranj and Žirovnica host major cultural celebrations
The 21st Serbian Culture Days have commenced in Kranj, organized by Kulturno društvo Brdo. The event features a diverse program including literature, traditional cuisine, folk music, and folklore heritage. A central theme of this year's program is a tribute to the poet Branko Radičević, a prominent figure of Serbian Romanticism. In addition to literary discussions and poetry recitals, plans are underway to install a bust of Radičević in Kranj's La Ciotat park.
The festivities include culinary showcases of traditional Serbian dishes and musical performances by various vocal groups, with guests arriving from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Folklore presentations involving groups from Slovenia, Germany, and Serbia are also scheduled.
In a separate cultural milestone, the Kulturno društvo dr. France Prešeren Žirovnica Breznica celebrated its 70th anniversary. Established in 1956, the society held a commemorative event titled ‘Kultura je naše srce – naj se igra začne!’ featuring theater, music, and dance performances to honor seven decades of community engagement and artistic contribution.
