Kremlin spokesman says EU crossed all red lines after Romanian drone strike

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told the Vesti portal that European Union countries have "crossed everything that can be crossed" and should not speak of any "red lines" as the EU backs the continuation of the war in Ukraine. His remarks responded to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s accusation that Russia was responsible for a drone that struck a building in Galati, Romania, injuring two people.

Romanian authorities immediately blamed Russia for the attack, though they offered no evidence and the Romanian army did not intercept the drone despite radar monitoring. President Nicolae Dănău announced that, following the incident, the Russian consul general in Constanța would be declared persona non grata and the Russian consulate in the city would be closed. Russian officials rejected all accusations of involvement in the Galati incident.
