Kristaps Porzingis sidelined indefinitely by health issue

Golden State Warriors center Kristaps Porzingis will be sidelined indefinitely due to an undisclosed health issue. The news was shared by general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. during the team’s media day.

Porzingis will miss the start of the team’s training camp in Hawaii and will not participate in the preseason game against the Los Angeles Clippers. While the exact nature of the issue remains unknown, Dunleavy noted that the situation was unexpected, as Porzingis had been training and appeared to be in good shape as recently as last week.

Despite the setback, the team is not yet ruling him out for the start of the regular season. The Warriors are also managing other roster absences, including Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, who are recovering from significant injuries. The team may look to players like Al Horford, Charles Bassey, or rookie Yaxel Lendeborg to fill depth roles in the frontcourt during Porzingis’ absence.
