Kristaps Porzingis to return to Warriors facility Tuesday
Kristaps Porzingis is expected to return to the Golden State Warriors facility at Chase Center on Tuesday to meet with the team’s medical and performance staff. The 31-year-old Latvian forward has been away from the team for several weeks due to an undisclosed health issue. While there has been speculation regarding his previous diagnosis of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), the team has not confirmed if his current absence is related to that condition.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr stated that while Porzingis will be in the building, there is no clear timetable for his return to the court. Kerr noted that Porzingis’ availability for the regular-season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers on October 21 remains uncertain and will be determined following discussions with the performance staff, including Rick Celebrini.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Porzingis, the Warriors are finalizing their roster preparations. Kerr has indicated he is leaning toward a small-ball starting lineup for the season opener, featuring Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Gui Santos, Yaxel Lendeborg, and Draymond Green.
