KT Rama Rao urges Telangana government to reverse crop‑procurement limits

Bharat Rashtra Samithi Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) criticised the Telangana Congress government’s decision to limit procurement of paddy, sorghum, pulses and soybean to quotas set by the Central government. He said the move betrays farmers and urged them to hold Congress leaders accountable for broken promises on bonus payments, procurement centres and support prices.

KTR warned that the BRS will intensify agitation across the state until the policy is withdrawn and every grain produced by farmers is procured. During the same visit he met the family of farmer Pandurang, who allegedly died by suicide after failing to secure procurement for his sorghum crop, handed them ₹3 lakh in aid and demanded that the government provide a ₹25 lakh ex‑gratia and jobs for the deceased’s children.
