KT Wiz prepares for Korean Series following regular season title

KT Wiz, the 2026 KBO League regular season champions, are preparing for the Korean Series to pursue an integrated championship. Following the conclusion of the regular season, the team has entered a period of rest and reorganization. To maintain competitive readiness, the club has scheduled three practice games against Sangmu in the final week of October.

Manager Lee Kang-chul has attributed recent team stability to his policy of consistent lineup trust. He highlighted the resurgence of shortstop Jang Jun-won and outfielder Sam Hilliard, both of whom flourished after receiving assurances of their starting positions. Jang has recorded a .310 batting average with four home runs in 13 games since September 20, while Hilliard has regained his form after an initial adjustment period.

The team aims to leverage the experience of veterans such as Jang Seong-woo, Kim Hyun-soo, and Kim Sang-su, some of whom were part of the 2021 championship squad. The Korean Series is scheduled to begin on November 2.
