Kütahya hosts Open Air Traditional Turkish Archery Championship
The Turkey Traditional Turkish Archery Federation (TGTOF) opened the Minikler and Yıldızlar Open Air Archery Championship in Kütahya on August 1. About 490 athletes will compete at the Kütahya Traditional Archery Facilities on August 1‑2.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kütahya Governor Musa Işın, TGTOF President Cengiz Toksöz, AK Party MP İsmail Çağlar Bayırcı and other local officials. Toksöz said the event "preserves the ancient tradition of ata sport" and highlighted the cultural and spiritual value of traditional Turkish archery.
The championship aims to promote the sport among youth, with participants and coaches gathered from across Turkey to showcase the historic Okmeydanı field in Kütahya.
