Kütahya’s Ok Meydanı hosts national youth Turkish archery championship

The historic Ok Meydanı in Kütahya, Turkey, was the venue for the Traditional Turkish Archery "Minikler ve Yıldızlar" Open‑Air Championship, a national competition for young archers. Participants from across Turkey gathered to compete in the outdoor event organized by the Traditional Turkish Archery Federation.

University rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak attended the award ceremony, presenting medals to the top performers. He highlighted that traditional Turkish archery is not merely a sport but a cultural legacy that reflects the nation’s historic values of courage, discipline and moral conduct. Kızıltoprak praised the participants for their dedication and emphasized the importance of transmitting this heritage to future generations, noting the symbolic significance of each arrow shot in the historic setting.
