Gaming monitor industry advances with ultra-high refresh rate displays
The gaming monitor market is seeing rapid technological advancements in refresh rates and panel types. TCL CSOT is reportedly working on OLED panels capable of reaching 700 Hz, targeted for 32-inch and 34-inch formats. These would be produced at a Gen 8.6 facility in Guangzhou, China, using Inkjet Printing (IJP) technology to reduce costs and material waste. While official confirmation of the 700 Hz specification is pending, market research firm Omdia predicts significant growth in OLED monitor shipments through 2027.
Several manufacturers are launching new high-performance hardware. ZOWIE has introduced 2K 360 Hz professional eSports monitors (XQ2566X and XQ2766X) optimized for large-scale FPS games. Titan Army launched the U255L Ultra, a 24.5-inch Full HD monitor featuring an 820 Hz refresh rate and QLED technology. Additionally, KTC is releasing the M27P6S, a 27-inch QD-Mini LED monitor that supports dual modes: 4K at 160 Hz or FHD at 320 Hz.
Other notable releases include the IO Data GigaCrysta S, a 27-inch WQHD monitor with Mini LED and Quantum Dot technology supporting up to 320 Hz. ASUS ROG has also expanded its presence in competitive gaming, with its ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace selected as the official screen for the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026.
