KTM keeps Red Bull partnership, rejects single‑bike rule for 2027 MotoGP

The Austrian KTM MotoGP team confirmed that Red Bull will continue its sponsorship into the 2027 season, beating speculation that the energy drink might move to Ducati. Pit Beirer said, "Red Bull et KTM forment un duo parfait. Notre partenariat va bien au-delà d’un simple sponsoring."

At the same time, KTM has firmly opposed a proposal to limit teams to a single bike for Friday practice and qualifying from 2027 onward. The measure, initially backed by Aprilia and Ducati to cut costs, lost the unanimity required at the MSMA meeting, and a spokesperson noted, "L'idée de la moto unique n'est pas encore enterrée, mais il est désormais peu probable qu'elle passe." The lack of consensus means the rule change will not be presented to the Grand Prix Commission, with further talks scheduled for the next meeting.

These developments leave KTM with both a secured major sponsor and a continued influence over technical regulations as MotoGP prepares for new engine and aerodynamic rules in 2027.
