KTM launches 2027 790 Duke middleweight naked bike

KTM announced on 23 June 2026 that its 2027‑model 790 Duke will be introduced in Japan in June 2026. The new version keeps the 799 cc LC8c parallel‑twin engine delivering 105 hp (78 kW) and 87 Nm of torque, meets Euro 5+ standards and is priced at ¥1,198,800 (incl. tax).

The bike features a fully redesigned aluminum subframe, a new in‑house brake system supplied by WP, upgraded WP APEX front and rear suspension, a larger front fairing, a re‑shaped fuel tank and a 5‑inch TFT screen that controls riding modes, cornering ABS and traction control. It is 2 kg lighter than the previous model and offers ergonomic tweaks such as a wider handlebar and revised foot‑peg position.

While designed in Austria, production will take place in China through KTM’s partner CFMoto. The launch was demonstrated on Alpine roads in the Austrian Alps and highlighted that the mechanical layout – chrome‑moly steel frame with the engine as a stressed member – remains unchanged. The 2027 790 Duke is positioned as the entry‑level model in KTM’s Duke family, aiming at riders seeking a sporty yet manageable middleweight naked motorcycle.
