KTR's BRS challenges Congress over housing promises and farmers' power board in Telangana
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) accused a Congress minister of making hollow promises to build 20 lakh Indiramma houses before seeking votes, urging the party to fulfil its pledge. He highlighted the BRS record of constructing roughly one lakh double‑bedroom homes in Hyderabad and demanded a white paper on house building and demolition figures.
KTR also led a BRS delegation to a public hearing before the Telangana Electricity Regulatory Commission, opposing the state government's proposal to create a separate farmers’ power distribution company, the "Rythu Discom". The party said the plan was a conspiracy, warned of financial motives, operational difficulties and the transfer of large liabilities to the new entity.
