Kuching City FC hosts Tampines Rovers in Shopee Cup debut

Kuching City FC is set to make its debut in the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup as it hosts Tampines Rovers FC at the Taha Ariffin Stadium in Sarawak. This match marks the club's first home appearance in the tournament following two away fixtures in the Malaysia Super League and AFC Champions League 2.

Head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak emphasized the importance of utilizing home advantage and the support of local fans to secure a victory. While acknowledging the benefits of playing on a familiar pitch, Sahak warned that the team must not underestimate Tampines Rovers, citing the Singaporean club's extensive experience in regional international competitions.

Kuching City enters the match following a strong domestic run, including recent victories in the Malaysia Super League. Key players for the hosts include new striker Dylan Wenzel-Halls and experienced winger Safawi Rasid.
