Audi driver killed in night crash near Požega, Croatia

A male driver, about 50 years old, died in a severe traffic accident on the night of July 11 on the state road between Požega and Pakrac, in the village of Kujnik. An Audi with Daruvar plates left the roadway and struck a concrete bridge at high speed. The vehicle was heavily damaged and the driver died on the spot.

Residents who arrived first reported hearing a loud bang: “Čuli smo strašan prasak koji nas je probudio.” They tried to pull the man from the wreckage but were unable to revive him. Emergency services arrived shortly after, confirming the fatality.

Local inhabitants noted that the road segment is frequently used at high speed, saying “Ovdje se vozi kao da je autoput… Bilo je samo pitanje vremena kada će se dogoditi ovakva tragedija.” Police are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the vehicle’s departure from the road.
