Kulim, Malaysia dormitory fire leaves 101 students safe

A fire broke out early on 21 July at the two‑storey boys' dormitory of Sekolah Menengah Agama Tarbiah Diniah in Kulim, Kedah. The blaze, reported at 02:47 a.m., engulfed roughly 65 % of the upper floor. Firefighters from the Kulim Fire and Rescue Station, supported by a Hi‑Tech unit and volunteer fire teams, deployed four water streams and tankers to control the flames. By 03:09 a.m. the fire was under control, and the operation was fully concluded after overhaul work finished at 06:25 a.m.

All 101 students – from Forms 2, 3, 4 and 6 – were safely evacuated to a secure area before firefighters arrived and suffered no injuries. They were allowed to leave with their families from 07:00 a.m. while authorities investigated the cause and assessed the damage.
