Kumamoto and Shimane prefectures launch summer food fairs in Kumamoto, Fukuoka and Kobe

Kumamoto prefecture is holding a summer vegetable fair from July 20 to August 9 at Minoru Shokudo in Amu Plaza Kumamoto and Minori Café in Amu Plaza Hakata. The event features seasonal produce from three local JA areas—JA Aso, JA Kamimashiki and JA Kuma—offering salad buffets, set meals and direct‑online sales through the you+you Kumamoto market.

Shimane prefecture is presenting a collaborative fair titled “mai ne, Izumo.” from July 21 to August 11 at Kobe’s KOBE new WORLD and open‑air Kobe Motomachi locations. The fair showcases Izumo deer meat, Lake Shinji “Daio” clams and other regional specialties, with special promotions such as a ticket lottery for sightseeing pairs and limited‑edition anko mochi on July 26.

Both fairs aim to promote their regions’ agricultural and marine products, attract visitors, and boost local tourism through temporary menus and limited‑time offers.
