Kumamoto Earthquake Relief: 50 M Yen Corporate Donation and Singer’s Aid Delivery

Following the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto earthquake, Japanese entertainment firm Arashi Co. pledged a 50 million‑yen donation to the prefecture’s disaster‑relief fund, expressing support for the region’s recovery.

Singer Aya Shimazu, a native of Kumamoto, organized the transport of 6,480 two‑liter bottles of water and other supplies using her concert truck, coordinating with local stores and volunteers to deliver the aid to affected residents. Both efforts highlight private‑sector and celebrity contributions to the ongoing relief operations in Kumamoto.
