Kumamoto earthquake relief efforts involve football community and Hajime Moriyasu
Following the earthquake that struck Kumamoto on July 28, various football organizations and figures are engaging in relief efforts. Hajime Moriyasu, manager of the Japan national football team, visited several areas in Kumamoto Prefecture, including Kashima Town, Hikawa Town, and Yatsushiro City, to offer support to local residents and children. During his visit to Hikawa Junior High School, Moriyasu met with approximately 500 students and residents, stating that while his ability to help directly is limited, he came to deliver encouragement.
In addition to personal visits, the Kobe City Football Association has launched a fundraising campaign to support the Kumamoto City Football Association. The donation period is scheduled from August 15 to October 31, with funds intended to help local football players and communities return to their normal lives and enjoy the sport again. The collected donations are expected to be delivered to Kumamoto in November.
