Kumamoto earthquake relief efforts involve medical teams and volunteers

Medical teams and volunteers from various regions in Japan are actively engaged in relief efforts and reporting on the aftermath of the Kumamoto earthquake.

At Shimoina Red Cross Hospital, a medical relief team consisting of six members held a report meeting to discuss their experiences providing medical and mental health support in areas of Kumamoto that experienced maximum seismic intensity of 7. The team emphasized the critical importance of access to water and sanitation during disaster recovery.

In northern Kyoto Prefecture, the Maizuru Disaster Volunteer Center dispatched a bus carrying 20 residents, aged between 30 and 70, to provide support to the Kumamoto earthquake-stricken areas.
