Kumano extends deadline for household gas subsidies to Oct 2026

The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Raw Materials has extended the application deadline for financial support to connect households to the natural‑gas network in Kumano until 31 October 2026. The scheme provides up to 30,000 denars (about 70 % of eligible costs) for a home gas‑line installation or the purchase of a gas boiler. Kumano municipality adds a separate subsidy of 25,000 denars, allowing households to receive a total of up to 55,000 denars, which reduces the typical connection cost of roughly 77,000 denars to about 22,000 denars. Funds are allocated on a first‑come‑first‑served basis until exhausted, and the municipal gas company offers the connection fee in interest‑free instalments over up to 12 months. Officials say the program supports the city’s gas‑ification goals and helps lower air pollution compared with solid fuels.
