Kurashiki University students to host plastic recycling workshop in Setouchi
The student team 'Plagei' from Kurashiki University of Science and Arts will host a recycling workshop on September 19, 2026, at the Setouchi City Public Library in Okayama Prefecture.
Using an injection molding machine developed in collaboration with a local metal processing company, participants will transform plastic bottle caps into beads to create custom bracelets. The event is part of the Setouchi City Student Challenge Grant program.
NPO Karatsu Farm & Food will attend as a guest to present a lecture on the 'Precious Plastic Karatsu' initiative. The project is based on the open-source Precious Plastic model, which provides public blueprints and procedures for plastic recycling machinery.
