Kutablang Bridge construction reaches 95 percent completion

Construction of the Kutablang Bridge (Krueng Tingkeum Bridge) in Bireuen Regency, Aceh, has entered the asphalt paving stage. The project has reached 95 percent physical progress, with officials aiming to make the bridge functional by September 20, 2026.

The bridge serves as a vital national access road connecting eastern Aceh to North Sumatra, supporting logistics, economic activity, and local mobility. The structure is being rebuilt following its collapse during flash floods in late November 2025. The Ministry of Public Works is overseeing the permanent reconstruction, which involves a 149.7-meter duplication project with a contract value of Rp107.5 billion, executed by PT Adhi Karya.

Authorities are accelerating the timeline to ensure the bridge is operational before the high rainfall period predicted by BMKG for November and December. In addition to the Kutablang project, work is also being expedited on the Teupin Mane Bridge in the Juli District to improve connectivity between Bireuen and central Aceh regions.
