Kutno: Georgian national arrested after fatal assault on Polish man

A 41-year-old Polish man has died following an assault in the center of Kutno. The attack occurred after 10:00 PM on Friday, September 4, involving an intoxicated 29-year-old Georgian citizen.

Following the incident, the victim was transported to a hospital in Łódź in serious condition, but authorities later confirmed his death. Police identified and detained the suspect at his place of residence on the same day as the attack. The suspect has refused to provide explanations to investigators.

A court has granted a three-month arrest for the suspect. While the case was initially investigated as causing serious bodily harm, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison, the legal classification is expected to change following the victim's death. Under the revised charge, the perpetrator could face a sentence ranging from five years to life imprisonment.
