Fatal assault in Kutno involving Georgian national
Overview
On September 4, a 29-year-old Georgian citizen allegedly committed a violent assault against a 41-year-old Polish resident near Podrzeczna Street in Kutno. The victim suffered severe injuries, including a brain hematoma, and required emergency resuscitation after losing consciousness.
Initially, the suspect was placed under a three-month temporary arrest by the Kutno District Court facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm, which carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years. However, the victim later died in a hospital in Łódź.
Following the death, authorities indicated that the legal classification of the case is expected to change. Under revised charges, the perpetrator could face a sentence ranging from five years to life imprisonment. The suspect has reportedly refused to provide explanations to investigators.
