Kwabena Adu-Boahen trial: Court sets three-hour limit for cross-examination

The Accra High Court has granted lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea a final opportunity to complete the cross-examination of the fourth prosecution witness in the trial of former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahen.

The witness, EOCO Staff Officer Frank Marshall Cromwell, has been in the witness box for approximately seven weeks. Despite opposition from the Deputy Attorney General regarding further delays, the court adjourned the proceedings to Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

The court imposed a strict condition that the cross-examination must be concluded within a three-hour window. Once this period expires, the cross-examination will be deemed finished regardless of whether all questions have been asked. Following this, the prosecution is expected to close its case.

The trial involves Kwabena Adu-Boahen, his wife Angela Boateng, and Advantage Solutions Limited. They face allegations concerning the alleged misuse of GH¢49.1 million originally allocated for the acquisition of a cyber defence system for the NSB.
