Kwadaso Municipal Assembly commissions CHPS compound in Nyankyerenease

The Kwadaso Municipal Assembly has commissioned a fully furnished Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound in Nyankyerenease, Ashanti Region. Funded through the Assembly’s Common Fund, the facility includes nurses’ accommodation and aims to provide essential healthcare services closer to residents, particularly the elderly who previously traveled long distances for medical attention.

Municipal Chief Executive Eric Assibey stated that the Assembly intends to construct additional CHPS compounds in other areas where land is available, including Asuyeboah Container and Kwadaso. He emphasized the government's commitment to implementing free primary healthcare and completing legacy projects within the municipality.

The Municipal Health Director, Grace Billi Kampitib, confirmed that the facility has commenced operations with available staff and essential medicines. The compound will handle maternal health, family planning, and blood pressure management. While the facility is operational, Ms. Kampitib noted a need for additional equipment and logistical support to fully serve the community.
