Kwara State abductees reunite with families after release
One hundred and sixty-three residents of the Woro community in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State have reunited with their families following their release from captivity. The abductees, who were taken during an attack on their community, spent more than two weeks receiving medical and emotional support in Ilorin to address the physical and psychological effects of their ordeal.
The victims were escorted back to Kaiama on Thursday by the Chairman of Kaiama Local Government Area, Abubakar Danladi, alongside the Emir of Kaiama, Omar Shehu Muazu, and the Kiwazi of Wojibe, Ahmed Ibn Mohammad.
Chairman Danladi expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for their roles in securing the release and supporting the welfare of the victims. He also acknowledged the advocacy of the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, and the support of traditional institutions during the crisis.
