Kyiv faces intensified Russian strikes on residential and educational buildings

Russian drone and missile strikes have targeted residential areas and infrastructure in Kyiv and its surrounding regions. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a strike hit a six-story residential building, causing partial destruction and a fire. Other targets included a university of food technology, a kindergarten, warehouses, and a private sports center in the Obukhiv district.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that ten people were injured in the city during the recent wave of attacks, with nine requiring hospitalization. The strikes have intensified over the past week, contributing to significant disruption in the capital.

In response to the increased frequency of attacks, Kyiv officials are revising security protocols. The city is considering changes to public transport operations and preparing for potential shifts to distance learning for schools. These measures aim to mitigate the impact of frequent air raid sirens, which have been paralyzing economic activity, logistics, and daily life for residents.
