Kyiv Mayor Klitschko Warns of Escalating Russian Rocket Attacks and Urges More Patriot Defences

Kiev’s mayor Vitali Klitschko told Bild am Sonntag that recent Russian ballistic‑missile strikes on the Ukrainian capital are the worst since the war began. He blamed President Vladimir Putin for the escalation and warned that Russia may intensify bombing before winter to “destroy Kyiv”. Klitschko appealed to western partners, especially Germany, to supply additional Patriot air‑defence systems.

A separate report said three people were injured in a night‑time rocket attack on Kyiv, underscoring the growing civilian toll of the intensified strikes.
