Kyle Lowry signs one‑day contract, retires as Toronto Raptor

Veteran point guard Kyle Lowry, 40, officially ended his 20‑year NBA career on July 7, 2026 by signing a ceremonial one‑day contract with the Toronto Raptors. Lowry rejoined the Raptors to retire as a member of the organization, posting a gratitude message to fans, family and the city of Toronto. Over his career he played 1,187 regular‑season games, averaging 13.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.0 assists, and was a six‑time All‑Star. He helped Toronto win its first NBA championship in 2019 and left as the franchise’s all‑time leader in assists, three‑pointers, steals and triple‑doubles.
