Kylian Mbappé faces 10-12 day injury layoff
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé is expected to be sidelined for approximately 10 to 12 days following a knee injury sustained while playing for France. The injury, diagnosed as a hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee, occurred during a UEFA Nations League match against Turkey, where Mbappé scored the winning goal.
Medical evaluations in Madrid have ruled out more severe damage, providing significant relief to the club after initial fears of a long-term absence. Mbappé will miss the remaining international fixtures for France, including upcoming matches against Belgium and Italy. Depending on his recovery progress, he could return to club competition as early as October 10 for Real Madrid’s match against Villarreal.
In addition to Mbappé, Real Madrid defender Ibrahima Konaté also returned to the club after sustaining a collateral ligament injury in his right leg during the international break. The club is monitoring the evolution of both players to determine their availability for upcoming domestic and European fixtures.
