KYMCO expands scooter market presence in Malaysia and Taiwan
Taiwanese manufacturer KYMCO is expanding its presence in the scooter market through new model releases in Malaysia and Taiwan.
In Malaysia, MODENAS has officially launched the KYMCO XCITING VS 400, a 400cc sport-touring maxi scooter priced at RM27,988. The model features a single-cylinder engine producing 33.9PS and 37.5 Nm of torque, paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Safety features include Traction Control System (TCS) and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The scooter offers a 29-liter under-seat storage capacity and is available in Flat Black and Cerulean Blue.
In Taiwan, KYMCO has introduced the K1 E, an entry-level version of its popular K1 series. Designed to capture the budget-conscious market, the K1 E features simplified specifications, such as halogen headlights instead of LED, a traditional analog instrument cluster, and a single-shock rear suspension. Despite these reductions, it retains practical features like USB Type-A fast charging and a storage capacity of 37.4 liters. KYMCO is offering trade-in incentives to encourage adoption of the new model.
