Kyocera to launch new circulating inkjet printhead for packaging
Kyocera Corporation has announced the upcoming release of the KJ4A-EX600RC-HX, a circulating inkjet printhead designed specifically for the label and packaging printing market. Scheduled for sale starting in November 2026, the new technology aims to meet the growing demand for digital printing, which allows for small-lot, high-mix production and reduced environmental impact.
The printhead features a proprietary fluid-channel design that circulates ink near the nozzles. This mechanism helps prevent ink components from settling or drying out and maintains a uniform ink temperature, ensuring stable printing even with high-viscosity or pigment-based inks.
Key technical improvements include an expanded ink viscosity range of 8-11 mPa·s and a maximum droplet volume of 21 pL, a 23% increase over the previous KJ4A-AL model. These enhancements support high-opacity white ink, varnish for glossy or three-dimensional effects, and foil decoration for metallic designs. Additionally, the product supports high-speed printing of up to 100m/min.
