Kyocera to mass produce new thermal print heads for cold environments
Kyocera Corporation has announced the development of the KMH series, a new type of thermal print head designed for mobile barcode label printers. Mass production is scheduled to begin in October 2026.
The KMH series utilizes proprietary design technology to improve pulse resistance, allowing for stable printing quality even in high-load environments. This is specifically intended to meet the needs of refrigerated and frozen environments, where higher printing energy is required to ensure adequate ink density. By enhancing durability against repeated electrical pulses, the product ensures reliable operation in food logistics and cold storage facilities.
Additionally, the print heads feature a compact design. This allows for greater flexibility in mobile printer engineering, contributing to smaller, lighter devices and more efficient internal component placement, such as batteries.
