Kyoto high school athletes compete in regional swim meet and national interhigh tournament

On July 21, the Kansai High School Swimming Championships were held at the Towa Yakuhin RACTAB Dome in Kadoma, Osaka. Kyoto Gakuin Ouwatari High School's first‑year swimmer Aonuma improved her personal best by nearly two seconds and secured a podium finish in the women's 200 m freestyle. In the same meet, teammate Miyamoto won the women's 200 m butterfly, while other Kyoto swimmers placed in various events.

Separately, the Kyoto Prefecture high‑school delegation for the upcoming national Inter‑High (IH) competition has been announced. The team includes athletes in track and field, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, soft‑tennis, handball, soccer, badminton, softball, sumo, judo, wrestling and rowing, preparing to compete when the IH opens on July 23.
