Kyoto high school baseball spotlights top strikeout pitchers, adds rookie tournament

The summer Kyoto high school baseball tournament featured a number of dominant pitchers, many throwing fastballs around 140 km/h. A data-driven feature highlighted the 15 pitchers with the most strikeouts, underscoring the impact of high-velocity arms on the competition.

Separately, the newly created Kyoto Prefecture lower‑division newcomer tournament opened its first round, staging 19 games across the prefecture. The event, launched this year, provides a platform for fresh high‑school talent to compete and advance through zone qualifiers.
