Kyoto hosts upcoming music festivals and cultural events

Various cultural and community events are scheduled across the Kyoto region. The Kyoto Music Expo 2026, organized by the rock band Kururi, will celebrate its 20th anniversary on October 10 and 11 at Umeoji Park. This outdoor festival emphasizes environmental harmony through initiatives like compost power generation and reusable tableware.

Other upcoming activities include the 80th Nantan City Fireworks Festival, which will be held free of charge on September 20 at the Ooke Riverbed. In November, the Kyoto Tanba Road Race will take place at the Prefectural Tanba Nature Sports Park.

Additionally, the International Music Exchange Association will host a free International Music Exchange Concert on October 15 at the Kyoto Concert Hall in Sakyo Ward, featuring musicians from four different countries performing classical masterpieces.
