Kyoto to host marathon-related events and motorsports championship

Kyoto is set to host several major sporting events in the coming months. The executive committee for the Kyoto Marathon 2027 will hold its first related event, the ‘Kyoto Marathon Running Park’, on October 31 at Nishikyogoku General Sports Park in Ukyo Ward. The event aims to expand the marathon's fanbase through activities such as running clinics led by top athletes and puzzle-solving games for all ages.

Additionally, the City Trial Japan 2026, the eighth round of the All Japan Trial Championship, will take place on November 29 at Okazaki Park in front of Heian Jingu Shrine. This marks the first time a motorsports event of this nature will be held within Kyoto City, utilizing the historic cityscape as a stage to determine Japan's top rider in the IA Super Class.
