Kyoto's north hosts Shiroi Cafe Festival and melon parfait craze

A Shiroi Cafe Festival was held on July 19, 2026 at the Asamogawa fishing port in Miyono‑cho, Kyōto‑fu's northern Kyōtango area. The event featured dishes such as shiroi‑fish sushi and tuna nigiri, promoting local seafood.

At the same time, a seasonal parfait containing a whole half‑melon gained popularity at the KEKE café near Takijiri Pass west of Maizuru City. The striking presentation and large melon portion attracted many visitors, highlighting regional culinary creativity.
