Kyriakos Mitsotakis to meet with university rectors in Thessaloniki

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to meet with the rectors of five universities from the Macedonia and Thrace regions on Thursday, August 27, in Thessaloniki. The meeting, held at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, follows an invitation from the Prime Minister as part of his engagements with institutional and productive sectors ahead of the Thessaloniki International Fair.

Attendees will include Vice President Kostis Hatzidakis, various government ministers, and representatives from productive organizations. The rectors participating are Kyriakos Anastasiadis (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), Fotis Maris (Democritus University of Thrace), Stylianos Katranidis (University of Macedonia), Stamatis Angelopoulos (International Hellenic University), and Theodoros Theodoridis (University of Western Macedonia).

The discussion will focus on the specific needs, developmental requirements, and ongoing projects of each institution. Significant attention is expected to be given to the University of Western Macedonia, particularly regarding staffing, its connection to the local labor market, and major infrastructure projects such as student dormitories, a new campus in Ptolemaida, a technological park, and a Green Data Center intended to host the new national supercomputer.
