Kyriakos Mitsotakis to tour Macedonia ahead of Thessaloniki Fair
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to undertake an extensive tour of Macedonia, including Western Macedonia, ahead of the Thessaloniki International Fair (DETh). The visit is expected to begin on Thursday, August 27, with the Prime Minister arriving in Thessaloniki for meetings and project inaugurations, such as the Kalamaria metro line extension.
In Western Macedonia, the itinerary includes visits to Florina and Kozani. Key stops include the Wonderplant investment in Ptolemaida, which highlights the region's economic transition, and potential inaugurations at the Mamatsio Hospital in Kozani. The Prime Minister's schedule also involves meeting with local businesses and citizens to discuss regional development and the Just Transition Fund.
Simultaneously, the New Democracy party is mobilizing a large presence across 16 prefectures in Central, Western, and Eastern Macedonia from August 31 to September 4. High-ranking ministers will visit various regions to highlight completed and planned projects, aiming to strengthen party ties and address local concerns in the lead-up to the Thessaloniki International Fair.
