Dallas Mavericks face Kyrie Irving trade speculation and Flagg partnership questions
As the Dallas Mavericks prepare for the 2026-27 NBA season, attention is focused on the return of Kyrie Irving following an ACL injury and his partnership with sophomore star Cooper Flagg. While Irving is expected to provide veteran leadership and playmaking, league executives are monitoring the long-term viability of the pairing due to the 15-year age gap between the two players. Speculation regarding potential trades involving Irving has surfaced, with rumors linking him to the Miami Heat, though no official movement is currently expected.
On the court, analysts suggest Irving’s presence could benefit Flagg by drawing defensive attention away from the young phenom. Meanwhile, Flagg continues to build on a historic rookie season where he was named Rookie of the Year.
Off the court, Irving has launched a new ANTA KAI footwear collection. The line includes the ‘Protect Your Sisters’ capsule, designed in collaboration with his sisters, Asia and London, to promote a message of protection. The collection features elements reflecting Irving’s Indigenous heritage.
